A finished shawl.

I have completed my lace shawl and I love the way it turned out! It's light and soft and I think I'll be wearing it a lot. I decided to do a picot cast off to give the edge a little more detail. Here it is...

A little knitting for me...

So people always ask if I still enjoy knitting since I've started my Etsy shop, and the answer is YES! I don't often knit anything for myself so when I do make time for it I spend a lot of time finding the perfect thing for me. I've chosen to knit a lace shawl, Azzu's Shawl using Twinkle Sock from Another Craft Girl in Silver. This yarn is amazingly beautiful silver and grey with little sparkling silver strands that glimmer in the light. I can't wait to wear it!

New for Fall 2012

Even with our 100 degree Summer temps here I have Fall weather on my mind. I've designed a new Ear Warmer / Headband using the same Cable design from my WindyCityKnits Cabled Cowl Scarf. Summer in the City

My view this weekend...

We took a beautiful cruise on the lake and enjoyed some fabulous weather too!

I love the Chicago skyline...if I ever moved from here I think this is what I'd miss the most.

Stay Cool!

A cabinet...

So I've been doing some late spring cleaning around the house and came across my great-grandmother's sewing machine cabinet. I pulled it out, dusted it off and organized some of my knitting needles and notions to have them all in one spot and the cabinet is perfect for them. It really needs to be re-finished and I will get to that one day but for now it's very "rustic".

While organizing things, I came across what was originally going to be a cotton legwarmer but I wasn't happy with it so it became a Mason Jar cozy. The purple bowl started out as a hat but, ta-ta...flip it over and it became a nice little bowl.

This cabinet really does have a sewing machine in it. I learned how to sew on this machine when I was 15 years old, wow that was long time ago, lol!  It's very old and the plug is a little scary so I don't think I'll be turning it on anytime soon.
